italo disco received it’s stigmata of bad taste for several good reasons: cheesy hooks, plastic sound signatures, neon record covers, awful english etc. nevertheless the genre gave birth to some obscure gems and essential dance classics leaving footprints behind in pop worldwide.

one of the true styleguides in this compilation is adriano celentano’s ‘prisencolinensinainciusol’ – not only because it was the first ‘rap’ record made in europe (1974!), but also because of it’s classy music video:
